Material Assumptions was a group show at The Center for Book and Paper arts at Columbia College. I designed the identity and catalog for the show which was about the discursive ways that artists approach paper as a medium, technology, and tool. The catalog was printed on a single sheet of 32″ X 40″ paper and folded in half twice. The artists were asked to create new work using abaca and cotton paper handmade to the specifications at the Center for Book and Paper Arts. I folded and scanned that same paper to create the white shapes on the cover that sit behind the curatorial essay.
